In 2004, when we conceived this project, we were struck by how little had been documented about the Jewish communities of Vermont. Until now, there has never been a collection of Jewish women’s life stories in Vermont. The women we have interviewed represent all ages and walks of life from across the state. The work we have undertaken in researching and interviewing the women in this project will contribute to the history of the Jewish people in Vermont and, we hope, to the greater appreciation of their lives and accomplishments.
